Tara Club Notes 8th of July 2013

CongratulationsCongratulation to all the London senior team and Paul Coggins and management on a very successful win over Leitrim in the Connacht semi final. Media Night Pre: Connacht Championship Media / Supporters Evening will be in Ruislip on Tuesday the 9th July to wish the London senior football team and their management the very best of luck. We hope to see you all there to show your support.CondolencesTars Minor Gaelic football club would like to offer their  Condolences to the family of Paddy Sheehan, who sadly passed away.

Paddy Sheehan was the father of our U10 Trainer Pat Sheehan and  Grandfather of Cathal who plays for our U10 team. The funeral arrangements are as follows Mass at 7.00pm on Wednesday the 10th July 2013  at: 

St. Mary & St. Andrew, 216 Dollis Hill Lane, Dollis Hill,  NW2 6HE
From there Paddy will be removed to Ireland, on Thursday 11th  July 2013,
where he will repose at: FitzGerald's Funeral Home,  (by St. Finian's Church),Waterville, Co. Kerry
between 5.30pm  and 8.30pm, and then at 8.45pm will be received at: Our Lady of the  Valley Church Killeenleagh, Mastergeehy,(nr. Waterville) Co.  Kerry. The Funeral Mass will take place at 11.00am, Friday 12th July 2013, followed  by burial afterwards in Dromid Cemetery Our thoughts and prayers are with the Sheehan family at this sad time.

Well done to the London Hurling Youths who went to Limerick for the Feile na Gael Hurling which took place from the 5th -7th July in Limerick.We look forward to seeing you all out at the Family Race night on the 13th of July at Kingsbury Town Football Club.

 ABC Competitions

All Britain Competition will be held on the 26th, 27thand 28th of July at Tir Chonaill GAA Grounds, Greenford, London (UB6 0NZ) for age groups 8's/10's/12's/14's/16's/18's and girls.Summer camp will commence on the 29th of July to the 2nd of August at Sudbury Court, East Lane.

YouthTrainingOur training is on Friday nights at 6.30pm till 8pm (The U6's finish at 7.30pm) at Sudbury Court Playing fields, East Lane, North Wembley. If your child is interested in coming to one of our training sessions for a free trial please do come along and see if they enjoy Gaelic Football

 

Mouthguards - are compulsory for all youth players for training and matches as of the1st January 2013. Parents/carers please ensure that your child has mouthguards that must be worn at all training session and at matches/Blitz. They can be purchased at all sports shops.

 

RegistrationsAny players who have not yet registered should contact their managers ASAP. If you have not paid your Membership you are not insured to play.

14's Feile in Derry

Well done to Tara U14's Aidan Harte, Colm McSheffrey, Darragh Mahon, James Fennelly, Luke Horgan, Oisin Bradley and Ryan McCready who all went off to the Feile in Derry as they togged out for  the U14 North London Team in the Féile Peile na Nóg which was held in Derry from Friday 28th to Sunday the 30th June 2013. London played and won their first game in the Feile against Glenullin with a final score London 0-07 v 0-04 Glenullin. On Friday at 7pm on they went on to join in with 151 teams who took part in the parade at Brandwell Stadium in Derry. On Saturday morning London played Brian Og Steelstown finishing with a draw London 2-05 to  1-08 Brian Og Steelstown it was a great nail biting match indeed. Skills test Darrgh Mahon came joint second place. London's third game was against Longford Slashers with a final score of London 1-08 to 2-05 Longford Slashers 
At 4pm on Saturday London played Clonmel in the semi final where Clonmel started off by getting 3 goals in the first ten mins, but London were amazing in the second half and very nearly equalised in the last ten mins. They missed out on a chance of a goal and sadly lost out. The final score was London 3-06 to 3-11 Clonmel. Congratulatios to Clonmel who went on to win the Feile.

A huge  Thank You to our hosts Glenullin who gave us a great welcome and looked after the  children and mentors who all had a brilliant weekend.

Summer Camp

Our very successful summer camp is back again this year and will run for one week from Monday the 29th of July to the Friday the 2nd of August at Sudbury Court, East Lane. All coaches are fully qualified teachers and coaches which are all CRB checked. Children from reception class up to the age of 12 years are all welcome and you don't have to be just from Tara club as all clubs are very welcome to come along and have fun. The cost of the camp is £12 per day, but an early bird discount of £50 applies if you book before the 15th of July to secure your place. We are offering generous sibling discounts, so please book now to avoid any disappointment. The children will be shown drills and demonstrating their skills in a warm and secure environment throughout the day in a fun filled summer camp. LadiesTara ladies football training takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7.45 at Northolt Rugby ground at Cayton Road Green Park, Cayton Road, Greenford, Middlesex UB6 8BJ.

Nearest tube station is Greenford, on the Central line and we have players travelling from various places in London who can meet you. Full changing facilities and showers and newcomers are always welcome.

New players welcome - If you live in London or are planning to move to London and wish to join a friendly the Tara's boast a full complement of teams Men's, Ladies Senior/Junior and the Youth Section cover all age groups U6 up to u18's with a Girls only section catering for U11's to U18's.

 

The Ladies and Men's teams are based in West London and train at Cayton Green Park, Cayton Road (Northolt Rugby Club), Greenford, Middx, UB6 8BJ. The club house and grounds boasts superb facilities with changing rooms and showers and flood lights for when the evenings grow dark. Cayton Road is easily accessible from Greenford Central Line/National Rail/ Sudbury Hill Station - Piccadilly Line and we have players travelling from various places in London who can meet you. Usual training nights are Mondays and Wednesdays for the Ladies and Tuesdays and Thursdays for the Men
