It will be lights, camera, action at the Emerald Grounds in Ruislip this Thursday evening, July 18th with London GAA in the spotlight for a special LIVE TV broadcast on SKY TV ahead of their historic first ever Connacht Senior Football Final. Over a million people across the globe are expected to watch the LIVE TV show, which will be broadcast on SKY TV channel 191 and 193 from 9.00pm. The TV show from Ruislip will also be streamed live on www.irishtv.ie and will also be available to subscribers to Setanta Sports, Premier Sports, Freesat, Eircom and UPC in Ireland and the UK. TG4 are also taking the feed from Ruislip and will broadcast it on Sunday afternoon ahead of the Connacht Football Final on July 21st.
Commenting on the LIVE broadcast Pierce O'Reilly from IRISHTV.ie; the lead partners in the production, stated it was an exciting time for London GAA and that they certainly deserved their time in the spotlight. "This LIVE TV show will showcase London GAA to the world and acknowledge the wonderful work that has taken place in London to promote the GAA over the years. We want people everywhere to sit up and recognise the thousands of GAA people that have dedicated their lives to supporting one of the greatest amateur sports in the world in a foreign country," he said.
This LIVE broadcast entitled âMad for Sam - London Calling' from Ruislip is the first ever co-production of its kind involving a number of TV networks in different regions. The special two hour LIVE TV show on Thursday, July 18th from the Emerald Grounds - the home of London GAA, will capture the magic of this extraordinary meeting of Mayo and London in the Connacht Football Final with insightful and engaging interviews from both camps, expert analysis from top GAA pundits and all the excitement and atmosphere in the build up to the big MATCH.
The âMad For Sam - London Calling!' TV special will look at the close links between Ireland and London with a special message from An Taoiseach Enda Kenny to be broadcast on the night. President of the GAA Liam O' Neill is also expected to attend on the night to show his support for the exiles.
Expert analysis on the night will be provided by GAA Football legend Willie Joe Padden, who is flying in from Spain for the occasion, while former Mayo GAA stars Pat Holmes and Colm McMenamin will look at the key battles and the likely outcome. Another special guest on the night will be Antrim and Ulster GAA star and top GAA columnist Kevin Madden, who will outline how âDavid can slay Goliath' in the Connacht Football Final.
London GAA stalwarts, club members, players and supporters will feature prominently from start to finish as the exiles go in search of their first ever Connacht Championship Celtic Cross. The show will also be jam-packed with some great music and entertainment from Irish exiles living in London.
