London Youth Board Notes
The next meeting London Youth Board will take place on the 18th of March at Emerald GAA Grounds at Ruislip and will continue on with montly meetings on the third Monday of each month.
Happy Mothers Day for 10th of March
The London Youth Board would like to wish all the mothers and grandmothers a very happy mothers day this Mothering Sunday
St Patrick's Day Parade 16th of March 2013
We would like to ask if any Minor Youth club is interested in participating in St Patrick's Day parade on Saturday the 16th of March in Willesden meeting at 1.30pm at Willesden Green tube station and parade starting at 2pm and finishing down at Willesden library at 2.30pm. Meeting for Coaching & Games Committee
There will be a meeting of the Coaching & Games Committee with the Management Teams of ALL our Development Squads (U-14 Hurling & U-14, U-16 & U-18 Gaelic Football) on Monday, March 4th in the Emerald Grounds, Ruislip.
The Management teams are requested to attend at the following
- 7.30 p.m. U-14 Hurling
- 8.00 p.m. U-14 Gaelic Football
- 8.30 p.m. U-16 Gaelic Football
- 9.00 p.m. U-18 Gaelic Football
Following on from this, there is a Gaelic Football Development Squad Blitz for all three age groups (U-14, U-16 & U-18) on Saturday, March 30th in Pairc na hEireann, Birmingham beginning at 10 a.m.
NOTE: March 30th is Easter Saturday so please make Club members aware of this date as soon as possible.
Mini Under 10 games
At a recent county board meeting it was agreed that there will be mini Under 10 games taking place at half time for the remaining National League Games in both football & hurling.
The remaining fixtures are as follows:
· Saturday 9th Mar - London v Waterford (2pm) (F)
· Sunday 10th Mar - London v Down (2pm) (H)
· Sunday 24th Mar - London v Limerick (2pm) (F)
· Saturday 30th Mar - London v Roscommon (3pm) (H)
Level 1 Coaching Course
The Level 1 Course course will continue on during the next few weekends during March, Sunday the 10th and Saturday the 16th please enjoy and continue on with course for the duration
Feile Dates for your diary:
Under 14 All Britain Feile 8th June
Feile Peil na nOg 28th- 30th June held in Derry
Feile na Gael 5th -7th July held in Limerick
ABC dates are fixed for the 26th-28th of July at Greenford.
The 2nd Annual All Britain Competition (ABC) 26th-28th July 2013
The 2nd Annual All Britain Competition (ABC) will be held from the 26th - 28th July 2013 in Tir Chonaill Gaels Grounds in Greenford, London UB6 ONZ.
The ABC is a weekend tournament of Gaelic Football, Hurling, Camogie and Ladies Gaelic Football for children and youths from U-8 up to U-18 from all across Britain.The ABC games will serve to ensure that Gaelic games and other Irish cultural events are promoted in a fun-filled, enjoyable and action packed manner, which has regard for the underlying motivational ethos of GAA Games Development - 'Fun Do, Can Do, We Do'.
The following Guidelines will be strictly adhered to for this year's competition:
· U-18: 7-a-side
· U-16: 11-a-side
· U-14: 13-a-side
· U-12: 11-a-side
· U-10: 7-a-side
· U-8: 7-a-side
The U-8 & U-10 Gaelic Football, along with all Hurling & Camogie will be played to conclusion on Friday.
Ladies Gaelic Football & U-12 to U-18 Gaelic Football to be played up to and including Semi-Finals on Saturday.
All Finals will be played on the Sunday.
There will be no Clubs allowed to amalgamate this year and players will only be allowed to line out for their clubs at one age group.
The ABC is an annual event, which will cater for the needs of the ever-growing number of underage players in Britain.
It is now compulsory for all youths to wear Mouthguards during their games.
