Holloway Gaels back training in Finsbury Park
The Gaels returned to Finsbury Park last Saturday for the first training session of the year. There a great turnout and morale was high despite the wintery conditions! Let's hope it's a sign of things to come for the 2012 season. Training continues every Saturday at 11am in Finsbury Park.
Congratulations to club members Olivia Giltenane and Bonnie Fleming on winning London All-Star awards, which will be presented at the All Star Dinner Dance on 4th Feb in the Corrib Rest Hotel. Tickets are £35 for dinner and entertainment. Please contact club secretary Angie Fenton if you wish to attend, would be great to have some support for our All-Stars on the night. A special mention aswell to London All-star nominees Una Creegan, Aileen Brady and Aisling Clifford. The girls have been brilliant for Holloway all season and the nominations were well deserved.
Sympathy is extended to the family of Maggie Dillon, former Holloway Gaels goalkeeper, who passed away last Wednesday. Maggie was a popular member of the first Holloway Gaels team, playing throughout the 1990's, winning a number of championships and helped to build the club to what it is today. May she rest in peace. Sympathy is also extended to the family of Brigid Doyle of Fulham Irish.
New faces are always welcome to the club so if you are interested in playing Gaelic football and meeting new people, please contact Ãine Maguire at ainemag@gmail.com for further details. Holloway Gaels is the most centrally located ladies Gaelic football club in London with our current base at Finsbury Park, which is easily accessible on the Picadilly line, Victoria line and overground trains.
