CLUB NOTES: Dulwich Harps 25th April
CLUB NOTES: Dulwich Harps 25th April
April 28, 2022
It was a game of two halves as the ladies team took on Kingdom Kerry Gaels on a windswept field in Mitcham
last Saturday. Dulwich struggled at first to find the target against the breeze, whilst their opponents used it to
their advantage to build up an early lead. However, the Harps gained momentum as the game progressed and
worked hard to reduce the deficit in an impressive second half display. In the end KKG held on to win by two
points on a scoreline of 4.14-4.12. Training continues on Monday and Wednesday evenings at 6.45pm in
Peckham Rye Park as the ladies prepare for the next league encounter with Tara on Saturday morning. Throw-
in is at 10.30am at Cayton Road, Greenford and all support is welcome!
The Mc Ardle Cup fixture has been postponed so the men travelled to Downhills Park instead for a challenge
game against Éire Óg. Training continues for the men’s team on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7pm in
Peckham Rye Park.
We are saddened to hear the awful news that Mattie Maher has passed away. Mattie had been a highly
regarded member of Dulwich Harps, representing the club on and off the field of play as a referee and county
board delegate for the past three years. Both teams will observe a minute silence during training this week as
a mark of respect. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
