Disability Awareness: Dispelling the myths
This one-hour webinar, open to all interested London GAA members, is hosted by actor and disability awareness campaigner Adam Pearson.
This session is designed to be interactive and to provide you with a safe space in which you can ask open, honest and perhaps ‘awkward’ questions (anonymously if preferred) about how you feel.
Topics covered will include:
• The definition of disability
• Current disability landscape and the Size of the disability ‘market’
• Addressing three barriers: attitudes, accessibility and language
• Understanding unconscious bias and how it can affect us all
• Sharing real life experiences of people with disability
• The importance of disclosing your disability and asking for support
• The benefits of working with disabled people
