VGC renew sponsorship for 2021 Intermediate Football Championshi

London GAA is delighted to confirm that it has retained the support of VGC as competition sponsors for 2021.

Donal Corbett, chairperson of London GAA, said: “We are grateful to VGC for their long-standing support of London GAA. VGC’s continued sponsorship of our intermediate football championship is testament to the work London GAA are doing to organise and play our national games in London and to their continued involvement in community support”.

2021 is a key year for the London County Board of the GAA. As the 125th anniversary of its formation, activities include the launch of a commemorative jersey, a launch in the Irish embassy in June, and hosting the London v Britain Hurling and Football on 2 October.

VGC chairman Sean Fitzpatrick said: “We’re delighted to confirm our ongoing support of the London GAA Intermediate Football Championship. 

“Numerous members of VGC’s workforce are of Irish heritage, and our sponsorship helps them to continue enjoying the game. It also encourages second-generation Irish to keep our culture and games alive. 

“Our sponsorship is part of our corporate social responsibility programme to support our local communities. We are also really interested in providing long-term sustainable employment to those wishing to pursue a career in the construction industry. We have many opportunities available on some of the UK’s flagship projects including HS2, Crossrail, nuclear and Highways England.”

The sponsorship continues VGC’s long association with GAA, sponsoring the Intermediate championship, as well as supporting the annual golf day and annual dinner. 

“We’ve been very pleased to support the league and the improvement works to the grounds,” added Sean. “We hope London GAA  will continue to grow and prosper for the next 125 years."
