London GAA welcomes new sponsors PHL Hydraulics
June 16, 2021
London GAA is delighted to announce that PHL Hydraulics will sponsor football and hurling cup competitions for 2021.
The company, which specialises in hydraulic jacking of buildings and structures, has been involved in many prestigious contracts over the past five years and is currently looking to grow its success through its hire and subcontract business.
The sponsorship is greatly welcomed in this time of economic uncertainty and is the second new sponsor to come on board with London GAA this year, as well as a number of renewals.
“PHL Hydraulics Limited have a very strong GAA background, and we trust their company benefits from supporting London GAA,” said London chairperson Donal Corbett.
“As a forward-looking company involved in jacking, bolting, stressing and tensioning sector of construction we trust their support will be appreciated by all our other sponsors and supporters in the construction sector.
“Their sponsorship is of great a financial assistance as well as demonstrating our continued growth in sponsors for London GAA,” said London chairperson Donal Corbett.
PHL Hydraulics was established in 2001 by Galway man Noel Fallon, who felt there was an opportunity to build a specialist hydraulic engineering company in Ireland.
Noel moved from his hometown in Ballygar to Co. Carlow in the late 80s, playing club hurling and football with Carlow Town before getting called up to the football intercounty team.
His playing career saw him successfully captain Eire Og to five Leinster championship titles in the early 1990s, all while developing his business.
PHL Hydraulics expanded to now have five depots in Ireland covering Dublin, Carlow, Cork, Galway and Dungannon and currently employs 56 staff throughout the island. Noel’s days on the pitch aren’t finished yet through, as he helps coach his two daughters camogie teams based in Carlow town.
In 2003, Anthony Redmond joined the PHL Hydraulics family when he was employed as a site technician in Dublin, before going on to become manager and director of the company.
London-born Anthony was raised in Willesden to Cork and Dublin parents, and played football with Tir Chonaill Gaels until he was 16 years of age. He since got bitten by the rugby bug, and went on to play the sport for Borehamwood, London Springboks, Dundalk, Ardee and Co. Louth, before finishing his career last year with Hendon Rugby Club.
Upon finishing his schooling in Harlesden, he became a plant fitter starting out his career with Barham Plant Hire, and then McGee and PC Harrington. He spent five years on site at the Wembley Stadium redevelopment before joining PHL Hydraulics in Ireland.
He returned to London in 2016 to try and build the brand here, securing work for many Irish contractors and employing nine staff in Luton.
The company specialises in hydraulic jacking of building and structures and bolting of tower cranes to the UK skyline. Their work has seen installations on lift shafts and cores and they recently built a slipform system which is currently being successfully used on the Tideway project.
Anthony said: “It has been a massive privilege to have the opportunity to be involved with London GAA and we are proud to become an official sponsor for many years to come.
“If we can ever assist with any hydraulics jacking, bolting, flat jacking or stressing needs please give us a shout.”
