Harlesden Harps - Club Notes 17th May

Upcoming fixture: 

Harlesden Harps continue their 2021 league campaign this weekend against Parnells Juniors, on Sunday May 23^rd at 1:30pm in Northwick Park, The Fairway, Wembley, HA0 3TQ. As usual, make sure you check public transport is in use and for any likely traffic delays, etc and ensure everyone is at the venue nice and early for a proper preparation for the game.

Previous match: 

After last weeks stirring Championship win it was back to league action for the Harps this week on Sunday as we took on St Kiernans in their home pitch. A proper battle this one as we played second best for a lot of the game but showed grit and determination to stay in the fight and emerge the right side of the tape and win on a scoreline of 1-10 to 0-12. Again a good spread of scorers but special mention to Ronan Flaherty who bagged a classy goal and two points and to Niall Cooke on his fantastic penalty save to ensure another clean sheet for us. We’re top of the league table at he moment so let’s keep the momentum going for this weekends game (see above) and of course a chance to impress for a starting place for the Junior Championship final in three weeks time.

Training: 

Training continues every week taking place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, at 7:00pm in The Shamrock Club, 307A Horn Lane, Acton, W3 0BP (nearest tube station: North Acton on the Central Line). A physio will be there on Tuesdays for any niggles you may have. Any new players wishing to "play a bit a ball" are very welcome to come along to this well-run club. If needed we can offer good jobs, along with accommodation and a social life to our members. Transport to and from training and pick up from local stations can also be arranged.

Membership 2021: 

Membership for the year is £60 per person. You will get your own club socks and shorts once membership has been paid. Everyone please pay a club officer sooner rather than later.
