McGovern Park: Pitch development

The London County Board are delighted to announce a new partnership with Turf Doctor Specialist Ltd, and look forward to seeing the results after their latest phase of works. We thank Prunty Pitches for their hard work and maintenance since completing the pitch in 2017.

Adam Rowlands and his team have already completed works to scarify, earthquake, sand brough in, verti-drain the pitch, as they embark on an initial one-year contract with London GAA (circa £40,000). The Turf Doctor team are familiar with the grounds, having been subcontracted to complete works for Prunty here in the past. The main playing pitch has also been seeded with premier rye grass seed and fertilised.

In addition to those completed works, the sideline of the main playing pitch will be installed with astro-turf. We are now awaiting the good weather for growth and get back to using our landmark pitch for games soon! Hopefully some warm summer evenings like the picture below are ahead of us!
