Condolences to the Reid family
April 03, 2020
The London County Board is extremely saddened to report the loss of Sean Reid, and extend its sincere condolences to his wife Peggy and the entire Reid family.
A native of Piltown, County Kilkenny, Sean has been an important figure for London since serving as a Brian Borus member, before participating on behalf of Dulwich Harps over the past two decades.
He served the county board as provincial council officer in 2019 and 2020. He served in many roles during his time in London, including officiating as referee, in management of the London Hurling team, as well as helping with programmes and the official London website.
Dulwich Harps said this morning: "As a county board delegate and living in north-west London, he regularly attended county board meetings and was a keen advocate to see Gaelic games flourish in other lesser known parts of the city, away from the traditional heartland of North west London.
"He has done so much work behind the scenes to help promote our club and other clubs in south and east London over the years and we are forever indebted to him. Sean had been in and out of hospital for some time, but it speaks volumes of the man that he was in attendance at the last County board meeting at the beginning of March."
He will be truly missed as a great servant and gentleman at Ruislip. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam
