Harlesden Harps club notes 1st May

Upcoming Fixtures: 

Harlesden Harps are playing the next round of the Murphy Cup this Thursday, 03^rd May at 7:00pm against Tara’s. The match will take place at Wormwood Scrubs, Artillery Lane (Off Du Cane Road), London, W12 0DF. After the weekend’s disappointing result this game offers a quick chance to bounce back to winning ways.

Previous Match: 

Harlesden Harps had the latest fixture in the Murphy Cup when they took on Éire Óg recently. The game was competitive from the off with the home side settling quicker and getting a couple of quick goals to take charge in the match. Although the Harps played some fine football at times it was the ability of Éire Óg to find the net which ultimately proved the difference. Still some encouraging performances from Jamie Somers, Conor Brady and Andrew McWeeney to take forward to the next day.

Training: 

Training continues this week taking place Tuesday at 7:30pm in The Shamrock Club, 307A Horn Lane, Acton, W3 0BP (nearest tube station: North Acton on the Central Line). Any new players wishing to "play a bit a ball" are very welcome to come along to this well-run club. If needed we can offer good jobs, along with accommodation and a social life to our members. Transport to and from training and pick up from local stations can also be arranged.

As usual, check public transport is in use and for any likely traffic delays, etc and make sure everyone is at the venue nice and early for a proper preparation.

Martin O Sullivan: 

As most of you will have heard club stalwart, Martin O Sullivan, suffered significant injuries in a car crash last August in Co Louth.
