The next meeting London Youth Committee meeting will take place on Monday the 18th of September at 8 30pm at McGovern Park GAA Grounds, West End Road, Ruislip, HA4 6QX
Tara GFC Summer Camp
Over two hundred children from various clubs around London attending the annual Tara Youths GFC Summer Camp which was held at Hendon FC forging links and friendships across the Irish and London community. Loads of Gaelic football & Hurling games with arts and crafts and Yoga all week.The children put a lot of energy and passion getting involved in hurling and lots of fun activities with Gaelic tournament running all week with Sligo, Wexford, Galway, Kildare, Mayo, London with the winning team Wexford. The weather held out most day with some very heavy rain but this didn't dampen the activities even the water pistols came out for all to enjoy. From London GAA we were honoured to have coaching the children Philip Butler and Lloyd Colfer and from London Ladies Noelle Cocoman, Rebecca Mills,Claire Towey, Gemma Taylor and Colleen Lynott along with coaches Jason Dunne, Paddy Curtin, James Carry, Oisín Bradly, Cormac from Granuaille, Ryan McCready, Bill Sweetland, Sean McCready, Joe RobertsA big thanks to all at Tara minor GFC and anyone that helped out in any way, Rob Morris and his team at Silver JublieeStadium. Lloyd Coliffer for assisting and directing the younger coaches. All the enthusiastic and professional coaches and admin and first Aid team, Josie Barratt (Granuiles) for supplying the hurling equipment. Brendie Brien for providing spot prizes for the children. Sharon Kelly and Colette Keavney and the young musicians for a lovely session of traditional Irish music.Lynn from Ndance Colindale for arranging a fun street dance 'Galway girl' performance by a group of children. Shirley Jordan for her yoga sessions which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. A big thanks to the lady that made it all happen was Camp Coordinator Tina Tracey who done amazing work in bringing it all together in what was truly a very successful camp. We look forward to next years event.
London GAA U13 exebition game in Croke Park
It was a great day full of excitement for thirty U13 year old children from clubs around London as they were given theopportunity to play a half time exhibition game in our National Iconic Stadium at Croke Park in the All Ireland Senior Football Championship Qrt Finals interval where Roscommon and Mayo drew. A big thanks must go to all the staff at Croke park as they truly spoiled our London children the hospitality was second to none. The children were kitted out and played in two of London Clubs colours St. Kiernan's and St. Claret's. London Ladies Children's Officer Colleen Lynott refereed the game where the children demonstrated their skills and abilities in front of thousands of spectators. After the game they were all provided with Lunch and a program of the day for their memorabilia. All the children really enjoyed the experience and will hold a life time of cherished memories for themselves and all the family's. Thanks to our four mentors Colleen Lynott, Paul Coggin's, Eddie McGivney and Brian Moran who done a fantastic job in organising the children.
