Dulwich Harps club notes 19th June 2017
The week has been one of much success for the club both on and off the field. On Thursday, our senior men’s team beat Moindearg in the semi-final of the McArdle Cup to reach their first final in a number of years.
The Harps were keen to rectify their defeat from the previous week and opened the game in a business-like manner, buoyed on by a strong gale for force wind and by half time the game as a contest was effectively over. They went on to win the game on the scoreline of 4-14 to 3-04.
The next game for the men’s team will be against Eire Og in the McArdle cup final. The game is scheduled to be played in Ruislip on Thursday 29th June at 7:15pm.
Training has been will continue on Tuesday and Thursday evenings @ 19:15 on Peckham Rye Common. For more information contact Alan (07472 211445) or Enda (07522 723765).
The ladies recorded a great victory over Thomas McCurtains in a friendly game last week which was played in Goodmayes. In what was a hard fought game, they came out the eventual winners on the scoreline of 1-10 to 0-10. This was a fantastic result for the girls against intermediate opposition and it is hoped that it will give them a platform to build on for the rest of the league campaign and championship.
There is no game for the ladies this week and training will continue at Peckham Rye Common on Monday and Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm.

The Dulwich Harps Family and Friends 7 aside Tournament took place on Saturday 17th of June on what was one of the hottest days of the year. Over 120 people participated in the games and the event was thoroughly enjoyed by all!
The club would like to thank a few people for making the day such a success. Firstly the Aussie rules team in Peckham for allowing us to barrow their tents and materials, Green Isles camogie club and St Paul's school for lending us their goalposts, The Duke of Sussex and the George Canning for providing the pre-game and post game refreshments.
And finally to all on the committee group who worked tirelessly to make the day a major success!!
The deserved winners on the day were 'team merk machine' and team captain Niall Russell gleefully accepted the cup from club chairman Tom Denning.
Finally the club would like to wish Niall Mc Cann all the best as he returns back to Ireland. Niall has been heavily involved with the club over the past 12 years and it was only fitting that refereed the final. Go raibh maith agat!!
Finally the club will running a night of the races in conjunction with St Pauls academy in aid of former Harps player Paul Bradley who is recovering from major surgery. The race night will take place at the Addiscombe Catholic social club: The Ballroom of Romance, 147 Bingham Road, Addiscombe, CR0 7EN and will begin at 7:30pm.
