RIP John O’ Sullivan
It is with great sadness that we learned this week that CuChulainns Life President, John O' Sullivan Senior had passed away after a short period in hospital. We will pass on funeral arrangements once they are known. Our thoughts are with John’s family and close friends at this time.
John was one of 12 children from Uhran in Beara, West Cork. He is survived by 8 of these today. John came to London in the mid-50’s and originally played with the Geraldines club for a few years before he joined his fellow Beara exiles at CuChulainns in the early 1960's. John was always been an active member of our club since he joined CuChulainns. John had many roles within the club over his life including a player, manager, chairman and president. John had many proud moments with the club but was particularly overjoyed with the clubs under 12 championship success in 1974 of which his son, whom he referred to as young John was a playing member. 10 years later the club won the junior championship in the centenary year of the GAA and a proud dad watched young John score the winning goal. He was a fantastic clubman, a loyal supporter and a great friend to all that knew him. He kept involved with CuChulainns all through his life and was recently one of our club representatives at the County Congress in December in Ruislip and was a constant supporter on the sidelines for us throughout 2016. John was fiercely proud to be a CúChulainn right to the very end and he has left us with some wonderful memories. Ar dheas De go raibh a ainm a Sean.
RIP Larry Sheehan
Larry ‘Lockey’ Sheehan passed away on the 18/02/17 in Reading. Larry was originally from Glanworth in County Cork. He played football with CúChulainns in the late 60’s and early 70’s along with his brother Timmy. Our thoughts are with Larry’s family and close friends at this time.
RIP TP O’ Connor
TP O’ Connor recently passed away on the 07/02/17 in Australia. TP was a cousin of Mattie Smyth and came from the same club in Moynalty, Meath. TP joined CúChulainns in 1986 and was involved with the club until 1993. He won a reserve football championship in 1988. He also was chairman for 2 years from 1991-1993. Our thoughts are with TP’s family and close friends at this time.
