Thomas McCurtains Hurling & Football Club Notes
October 11, 2016
Thomas McCurtains GAA Club Notes:
It was a mixed bag of results last weekend. The Camogie team have now finished their long season. It was a successful one which involved them claiming the British Junior Championship title in their first year in existence and being asked to participate in the Senior grade as well. Unfortunately they couldn't replicate their earlier success and were defeated at the semi-final stage to Tara on Saturday. We wish both Tara and Croydon the best of luck in the final being played this week.
Later on in the afternoon the focus switched to the Mens Footballers who were looking to overcome their championship defeat to Tir Chonaill Gaels. They duly delivered with a solid performance leading by a point at the break a brilliant spell on the resumption allowed them to pull away and record a four point victory. Also on Saturday afternoon the U-14 footballers lost out to St Claret's in the league final. While on Sunday the Hurlers lost a hard fought league match to Fr. Murphy's.
Next Saturday there is double the action in Goodmayes. The Footballers look to make the league semi finals as they play Dulwich in a play-off match, and the Hurlers take on St Declan's in the McCullogh Cup.
Good luck to the Ladies team who have been invited to take part in a 7 a side tournament in Oxford on Saturday.
