Harlesden Harps GFC Club Notes

Next Matches:

Harlesden Harps senior team are back in action this week in the Shield Cup when they take on Moindearg this coming Thursday 14^th July at 7:15pm. The game takes place at Wormwood Scrubs, London, (W12 0DF). Let’s hope the lads put in a big performance and progress in the competition.

Then on Sunday 17^th July at 11:45am we play Neasden Gaels in Round 6 of the AIB Division 2 league. The game takes place at Jubilee Park (NW9 7NE). As usual, check public transport is in use and for any likely traffic delays, etc.

Previous Match:

Harlesden Harps reserve team played Fulham Irish recently in Wormwood Scrubs. A disastrous opening quarter from the Harps saw Fulham Irish go goal crazy, finding the back of the Harps net four times in the opening 10 minutes. This was more than enough to give them a commanding lead at the break. A much improved second half performance saw the Harps team kick some fine points, but ultimately the poor first half showing proved too much to overcome. Better starts are needed from now on in their remaining games.

County Junior Team:

Hard luck to the London Junior team who were narrowly defeated by Lancashire last Sunday in the All Britain Junior Football Final. Special mention for Robert Reid who started at full back, also to Tom Murphy and Darren Lynch from the Harps, who both made the final panel for London.

Training:

For current players training continues every Tuesday and Thursday at 7:45pm in The Shamrock Club, 307A Horn Lane, Acton, W3 0BP (nearest tube station: North Acton on the Central Line). New players are always welcome to this well run club which if needed can offer jobs, accommodation and a social life to their members. Transport to and from training and pick up from local stations can also be arranged. Any new players wishing to "play a bit a ball" are very welcome to come along.
