North London Shamrocks Youth Club Notes

 

Parnells Under 10s were able to field two teams for this blitz, Parnells Amber and Parnells Blue.

 

Parnells Blue team coached by Alan Carolan & John Rattigan comprised Ronan Carolan, Paddy Rattigan, Joe Kilker, Joe Loughrey, Sean Buckley, Oliver Coupland and Ronan Keran.

 

Fortunately the rain held off and Parnells Blue played three games in total.

 

The first game was a close encounter against Round Towers with two very evenly matched teams. We created a lot of chances converting three of them however the "shooting boots" mustn't have been tied up properly as we hit a much higher number of wides!

 

However for their next game the team definitely did have their shooting boots on with an even better performance against London Gaels getting the scores:wides the right way round converting eight scores with only two wides. The scoring was led by Ronan Carolan who hit five points converting one free from over 20-yards out. There was some good tackling back from Oliver Coupland and Joe Kilker when in defence. Joe Loughrey competed well and won possession on a number of occasions for the team, one in particular led to some great inter passing involving Paddy, Ronan Keran and Sean Buckley with the move ultimately culminating in Sean converting the opportunity. 

 

The third game was against another London Gaels team the main intention being to give the players some more game time on a much bigger pitch initially removing the zones. This was a much stronger London Gaels team however the team gave it a go and battled well against some tough opposition.

 

This concluded the Blue teams action for the day, the players as always well behaved and a credit to all.
