Eire Og Club notes week beginning 9/5/16
This coming weekend the club wills another piece of history. We will field two teams for the first time on our five year history. The Juniors will take on Shalloe Pearse at 3.30pm and the Reserves will play Round Towers at 5pm, both games are in Mitchim. All support welcome.
Yesterday we took on Crawley and Brighton Gaels in Mitchim. We where down to our bare bones with only 17 players available. It was a similar situation for CBG who were understrength also. We started the better of the two teams and built up and early lead. Some good scores from our forwards saw us go in at halftime winning 4-8 to 0-3. The second half was a closer content with CBG making it a well contested half. Niall Murray went down injured with 13 minutes to go. Niall sustained a broken collarbone. We wish Niall a speedy recovery.
The game finished Eire Og 4-16 to 1-4.
Stand out performers on the day where debutant Ciaran Malone, Ronan Campfield and JR Bodkin.
The club will be holding a race night in the Faltering Fullback, Finsbury Park at 5pm on Sunday 15th May. Racecards will be available from club members from this week. The race night guarantees to be a great eveningâs craic and a perfect way to spend your Sunday evening.
