Camogie U14s Blitz!
Camogie U14s Blitz!
September 27, 2010
The development blitz took place at 3pm last Saturday 25th September, with nineteen players from London and Warwickshire (Erin go Brath). Ronan McCarthy, London CDA, refereed the match. The girls showed the skills they have been learning over the last few months and battled hard for their teams. The blitz was designed around the Go Games concept, where teams all came together to practice the skills they have learned in school in a match setting. This helps to ensure full participation of all members so that everyone has a “go”.
Although the competitive element was removed, this did not lessen the encouragement and support from the sidelines! London Development Officer Jacqueline Thornton reminded the girls after the final that this was what they would be playing for in only a few short years and the players were delighted to see the cup they would one day be in strong competition for themselves! The supporters for the day were fantastic and it is heartening to note that so many people came out to support and encourage London players, Junior Senior and Minor, and we very much look forward to seeing the support again at the Club Championship match and more. It was fantastic to welcome Joan O
London Camogie Development would like to thank all supporters and players who took part in the day. Particular thanks go to fixtures secretary Ruth Foley, club secretaries for the participating clubs and as always to the London Camogie Board for their continued support and assistance with the development process. Thanks as always also to Adrian and his hard working team at TCG, who make it a joy to play in such great grounds at Greenford.
