London Ladies visit Madejski stadium
January 06, 2009
London ladies football team paid a return visit to the Madejski Stadium at Reading on Sunday, when they played a half time exhibition game during the London Irish v Leeds Carnegie Guinness Premiership tie.
In front of a highly appreciative audience of 7,500, the girls portrayed the skills of Gaelic Football, half the team wearing the London strip and the others in the colours of county champions Fr Murphy’s, it was a highly exciting spectacle and the teams left the field to a standing ovation.
The London Ladies are most grateful to London Irish particularly Anna Hinds, for all the help with this visit.
After leaving the Madejski Stadium, the team visited, The Gateway, which is run by Cork man Martin O’Sullivan, from the famed Valley Rovers club and a big supporter of the local St Anthony’s G.A.A. Club, Martin very kindly laid on refreshments for all the London party and they were pleased to present him with a London Ladies Jersey
