Thanks from London Youth Gaelic Athletic Association Golf Day
Thanks a million to all who came out to support our Golf day last Thursday the 17th of October at The London Youth Gaelic Youth Board in association with the GAA Golf Society annual charity golf day at Dyrham Park Golf Club, Galley Lane, Barnet. 72 players took to the course in what was a beautiful sunny day. Thanks to the captain Paddy Cowan (The Irish World Newspaper) for all the prize giving. Thanks to all who sponsored a hole or donated prizes for the auction and raffle. John Millburn put a lot of effort into this day, so a big thanks to him for all his hard work. Tony Griffin and Hugh Lennon and Jim Rice and Lucia Butler and Fintan Doran were there to represent the London Youth Board. The money raised on the day will help fund the development of Gaelic Games in London, We have County teams in football and hurling who take part in the Feile competitions at under 14. As well as competing at under 16 and under 18 in inter county tournaments in Great Britain and Ireland, these competitions helps to develop their skills and will hopefully encourage them on to the path to represent the London Senior team as well as going on to play senior club football/hurling in London. If anyone has any ideas of fundraising please get your ideas forwarded on to members of the board.
