Thomas McCurtains Club Notes 7th May08-05-2018

We hosted our inaugural mixed-gender 7-a-side competition in a gloriously sunny Saturday afternoon which saw over 120 people flock to Goodmayes. There was a great days football, with over 80 men and ladies putting on a spectacular show. The group games were hard fought but unfortunately only four could progress and we had to say goodbye to Ealing Rangers, Designated Drinkers, Goodmayes Gangsters and The Dan Breens.

The semi finals were two very entertaining games and saw Team Ramrod overcome Suffolk 'n' Good and Romford Rejects come from behind to beat Ballyragget 7's. The final game was highly competitive and saw Team Ramrod win out by the slimmest of margins 0-11 to 3-01.

Team Ramrod: Peter Rafferty, Johnny Rafferty, Anthony Dennehy, Diarmuid Corrigan, Robert Tully, Conor Conneely, Catherine Barrett, Claire Finnegan & Andrea Brogan.

Hard luck to the London Seniors who lost out to Sligo on Sunday. The club was very proud to have Charlie & Aisling O'Leary represent McCurtains with the London U-10's at half.

Training will continue as usual for all teams next week.

We are back to club action following the bank holiday break. The Hurlers will start their league campaign with a refixed game against Kilburn Gaels on Thursday at 7.00pm in Goodmayes. The Camogie team will continue their mixed league with a trip to Manchester to play Fullen Gaels and John Mitchels on Saturday.

The following Tuesday (15th) the Footballers will play Eire Og in the Semi Final of the Murphy Cup in Downhills Park.
